You ask Quin Ataraxis whether he has heard anything about the bard after his tour.

Quin Ataraxis: "Nothing about him as a pony, of course, but his music left a lasting impression. I'd wager a foal or two found purpose in the sound, even if they couldn't understand the words."

You nod, and figure that you would have to ask someone who actually attended one of his performances to learn more about it. Then, circling back to the subject of demons, you try asking the housepony if he can explain the difference between demons and Devourers — or Eaters — to you.

Quin Ataraxis: "Devourer is nothing more than a Kirinese word for any monster created by dark magic. In case it isn't clear, monsters differ from other beasts in that they aren't born physically. Instead, they're created magically, usually in places of concentrated magic."

Moonflower: "Ooh, kinda like timberwolves?"

Quin Ataraxis: "I haven't heard of timberwolves before, but it sounds like they'd be made of wood?"

Moonflower: "Yuh uh! They live in an enchanted forest back home."

Quin Ataraxis: "If they're monsters, then chances are they don't simply live there; they're part of that forest. A manifestation of its will, so to speak. The Underworld is much the same way, and so is this island, which is why the Kirin insist that nopony leaves town without protection.

Now, I don't know the history behind it, but while we demons have distinct names for every monster, the Kirin have taken to simply calling them by what they feed on. Both the inu-hou-ou and the bu-ru-bu-ru are known to them as Heat Eaters, even though the second is far more dangerous than the first."

And demons are simply what two-horned ponies are called, you conclude.

Quin Ataraxis: "That's the short of it. We should count ourselves lucky that the Kirin don't call all of us Plant Eaters. Bah ha ha!"

You nod, and speaking of which, you ask Quin Ataraxis about the name of the angelica plant he mentioned earlier.

Quin Ataraxis: "Does it sound strange to you? Well, that's the Kirinese word for it. We demons know it as angelica, but maybe it sounds different to you. I'm not familiar with how sprite magic works, myself."

You thank him for trying anyway; if the word is in Ponish, then it seems like a question for an Equestrian botanist, after all.

Moonflower: "Heehee! I don't think there's any in the Everfree region, but maybe it grows somewhere else."

After letting your eyes thoughtfully wander around the massive stallion's toned body, an important question springs to mind: You ask if demons follow the same courting rules as the Kirin do.

Quin Ataraxis: "Hah! No, nothing like that. But before you get the idea to flirt with a demon, let me give you a word of warning.

There used to be a time, before the Empire, when unicorns and demons lived together. Back then, courtship was a cruel game with broken rules that led to broken hearts. Partners were treated like a status, and most ponies stepped on each other to climb fake ranks to a lonely top.

Now, imagine removing cruelty from the game like salt from water; that's what happened when demons were banished. While we demons don't have rules, we are, as your friend put it, meaner than other ponies. Far meaner."

Moonflower: "Even you?"

Quin Ataraxis: "Well, I don't think of myself as mean. None of us do. But I realize ponies from the Overworld care very much about the feelings of others. I've gotten good at playing along, as you can see, but to be honest, it doesn't come naturally to most of us."

Honourshine: "... Hm. Reminds me of a certain Dwarf."

Quin Ataraxis: "Ahh, another creature from the Underworld. That might simply be how it goes down there!"

Still, you try asking if most demons are as large and handsome as he is, and whether or not you would have a chance at getting one into b—

Honourshine: "Weren't you looking for a magic spell, Blaze?"

Right. You're looking for a spell to communicate with souls.

Quin Ataraxis: "Bah ha ha ha! To answer your first question, demons come in all shapes and sizes. If ponies being mean to you is what you're into, then be my guest; just don't come crying to me afterward!

As for the spell, that's another question for Lexicon I'm afraid. The only spells I know are Motion and Force, and I haven't gotten to use them in a while."
