Despite the relatively early hour, you begin to feel the day's travels catching up to you. You suggest joining Moonflower in bed and cuddle the night away, which expectedly prompts an amused eyeroll from Honourshine. Tsu-Ko takes this as her cue to retire for the night, like she always does.

After blowing out the candle, you settle next to the bat pony, and snuggle up to her. Honourshine lies down nearby — not quite as close, but close enough that you can feel her presence. With another eventful day behind you, you wish everypony a good night, and slowly drift off to sleep...

Time seems to stand still in the hidden town of Final Rest. The air is silent, and the lights never seem to change. You wake up after a good night's sleep, snugly wrapped in Moonflower's hooves.

After hugging and nuzzling each other awake, you sit up to stretch and check the time. Your pocket watch indicates half past nine. Time to get rolling!

Under candlelight, your party shares a ration to start the day off: tasty wraps with crunchy spinach, marinated beans — seasoned with lime and paprika —, bell peppers, and egg salad. With a box of sweet carrot juice to top it off, the meal makes for an energizing breakfast. You feel satiated.

Once ready to resume your journey, your party packs up and exits the house. Just outside, however, you are met with a figure in white hooded robes. The figure gestures for you to follow, then begins to walk westward. You trail not far behind.

The figure leads you away from the flame-lit streets and into the countryside. Beyond the darkness up ahead, you catch sight of a dimly lit alcove, tucked away in a corner of the cavern. Your heart sinks when you realize what it is: a cemetery.

Dozens of headstones line the semi-circular wall of the alcove. Most of them are lit with a few candles, while others are not. Two ghosts stand in the centre of the cemetery — which, sadly, you recognize immediately.

One is the young Petals, and the other... her late father. As you arrive, the ghostly elder turns to look at you. His features, creased by a lifetime of sorrow, are finally softened by peace.

Young ghost: "There they are!"

Elderly ghost: "Ah. Indeed. I hoped for the chance to thank the kind souls who helped me reunite with my daughter. I am honoured."

The elderly ghost bows gracefully before you, no longer burdened by the pain of his old body. You offer a bow of your own, and add that it was the least you could do.

Elderly ghost: "It was not. I know well the excuses of cowardice, and I am humbled by your bravery."

Honourshine: "May... we know your story?"

Elderly ghost: "You may, much as it shames me. In life, I was an apothecary. After my wife passed upon the foalbed, I devoted my life to raising our daughter. But she was frail of health, and no cure I could brew improved her condition.

When fate took her from me, I obsessed over my loss. Rather than cherish the lives I saved, I focused on the one that I could not. I refused to move on. Looking back, I regret having grown complacent in my misery."

Honourshine: "That's... hm. Are you happier now?"

The elder nods, and hugs his daughter to him.

Elderly ghost: "It is as though the weight of the world was lifted off my back. With this newfound wisdom, I feel ready to return to the stars."

Young ghost: "I can't wait to meet mama!"

Elderly ghost: "I am certain she feels the same way, Petals. Thank you all once more, and may we meet again in the next life."

You bid the ghosts farewell, and share one final bow. When you lift your head, all that remains is the elder's old bamboo hat resting against an unlit headstone.
